Many will be looking at this region as a fantastic new opportunity for growth. Key areas across Sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Uganda have made great step forwards in the gaming industry both commercially and in regulation. This briefing gave an exclusive insight into the current environment of leading African regions and what you’ll need to know in order to achieve success in this market. A bite sized teaser of what you can expect from the WrB Africa 2017.
As India has finally seen the launch of the first licenses and operations in the province of Sikkim and the pressure mounts to regulate sports betting due to the integrity scandals, ICE was honoured to welcome delegation from India once again to provide a status report on the performance of regulated gambling over the last few months and offer insight into the regulatory future.
Our partners Gioconews returned to ICE Totally Gaming with two discussions focused on the progress in Italy’s fight with illegal gambling, new wave of licensing soon to take place in Italy and changes in the VLT and land-based market.
Following the recent approval of the 1st IR Bill in the lower and upper house to allow casinos in Japan, interests in this region have been re-ignited perhaps to a level even higher than before as this is the furthest the IR Bill has ever gotten in Japanese government. If passed, Japan is tipped to become the 2nd largest gaming market in the world after Macau with annual projections of $40 Billion in revenue.
All eyes are on Brazil, unsurprisingly, due to the sheer size of the market and the currently discussed scope of regulation, encompassing bingo, casino, online gaming and sports betting. Both Senate and Chamber of Deputies bills continue to move forward in discussions and are expected to be discussed and voted on the floor soon.
Fully managed by our partners at GamCrowd, Pitch ICE is a series of short pitches by start-ups selected in a submission process that has already started.
Exclusively at ICE, the Totally Gaming Academy offered you the opportunity to attend a 45 minute taster session of each of our gaming training courses at our Theatre
Casino operators and gaming manufacturers have spent a number of years struggling to envision “the casino of the future”. Multiple forces have added to the complexity of the challenge: an aging user base, a general disinterest in traditional gambling forms among millennials, integrated resorts leveraging new platforms in iGaming and esports, and the video gamification of terrestrial gaming.
The World Regulatory Assembly is a series of events organised in conjunction with key associations to deliver high level networking and share knowledge to gain an all-round review on current and future Gaming regulation for members of the regulatory community.
