Autumn 2017 saw major developments take place in the UK iGaming affiliate landscape. Under the auspices of increasing macro-environment pressure, the affiliate space was hit hard by the closure of the Sky Betting & Gaming affiliate programme. Since then, affiliates have been issued with almost unilateral instruction from operators - differing in nature - to provide assurances on compliance.
Through the International Gaming Affiliate Association, the affiliate community is taking steps to arrange collective action to improve affiliate compliance with local law, beginning with the UK, and to raise standards in the industry to responsibly market to and better protect end consumers.
This seminar seeks to further assess ways in which operators, affiliates, suppliers, regulators and the media can progress their work together to ensure that affiliate marketing - the bastion of both user acquisition and player advocacy in the iGaming space for a generation - continues to serve the industry in a progressively responsible manner to protect customers.
